• Construction of a 266m x 144m sewage sedimentation tank at Stonecutters Island.
• Construction of a 260m long, 30m deep, and 4m internal diameter effluent sewage tunnel.
• A circular diaphragm wall for the pit excavation down to 40m deep and 55m internal diameter for the Main Pumping Station. In addition, the works included design and build of a circular diaphragm with an internal diameter not less than 16m and a depth of 31m as the temporary launching shaft for the tunnel boring machine.
• Demolition of existing washing facilities, sludge dewatering building and storage silos.
• Construction of new facilities consisting of a sludge dewatering building, storage silos, a deodorization system, and a workshop building at Stonecutters Island Sewage Treatment Works. In addition, foundation, electrical, mechanical, building services, fire services, and treatment process installations were included.

• Design and build an elevated passenger corridor connecting the North Satellite Concourse (NSC) with Terminal 1 (T1), known as the “Sky Bridge”, to enhance the level of services for passengers travelling between the two.
• The 200m long Sky Bridge is composed of a fully air-conditioned steel structure main bridge having minimum 102m clearance and 28.3m height above ground to allow the largest A380 aircraft to pass beneath at Taxilane B7 between the existing NSC and T1, and two side bridges at each end of the main bridge connecting it to the NSC and T1 respectively.
• The Sky Bridge will also be equipped with observation deck, F&B catering outlets, retail facilities, moving walkways, lifts escalators, and other auxiliary facilities.

• Construction of 340m Automated People Mover System (APM) and Baggage Handling System (BHS) tunnel structures respectively connecting the future APM Interchange Station & future Baggage Hall in the expanded Terminal 2 and the APM & BHS tunnel structures in the reclamation area, being part of the Third Runway Project.
• The tunnel structures are constructed from the existing Coach Park No. 3 and across Sky Plaza Road, Cheong Hong Road, Airport Road to Cheong Wing Road mainly by means of open excavation except the 40m section to be built beneath the existing Airport Express Line and Sky City Road by box-jacking method.
• This project involves a large number of temporary works such as ELS and its shoring system, grout curtains to prevent groundwater ingress during the construction stage, and ground improvement and stabilization works before excavation.
• Diversion of an existing box culvert, construction of a ventilation building structure, bored pile foundations for future viaducts and buildings for Terminal 2 expansion.

• The basement is about 400m long, 140m wide and 14m deep, for which total 210,000 m³ of concrete and 45,000 tons of steel reinforcement are used, and 500,000 m³ of materials are excavated including 320,000 m³ of rock breaking.

Scope of Works

• This contract includes design, construction and operation of the Organic Waste Treatment Facilities Phase 2 (OWTF2).
• Site formation works for area of about 2.5 hectares including demolition of pre-existing facilities of Ex-Sha Ling Livestock Waste Composting Plant and associated slope stabilization works.
• The OWTF2 is in capacity of 300 tonnes per day, which is about 70 truckloads per day, for treating the source separated organic waste.
• By using anaerobic digestion and composting technology, the organic waste will generate bio-gas to energy recovery, such as power generation and gas export.
• Construction of associated landscape works, electrical and mechanical works.
• Operation and maintenance of the OWTF2 for 15 years.
